So long summer…

End of summer_ 5
I think I probably say this every year, but I can’t believe this summer is over. Where did it go? I was just getting into the swing of it.  I know it is not technically over until September 21, but I consider summer Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I think part of the reason that I am so bummed it is over is because it was one of the best summers on record. Mostly because I was doing something completely out of my comfort zone. Back in May I took a huge leap of faith and quick my cushy and safe job and went to cooking school. Totally insane.

So everyday for the past 4 months I have been going to cooking school and it has been truly wonderful. Utterly exhausting but wonderful. I am now starting my externship (like in an hour) which I am pretty sure is going to rule my life for the next 2 months. Once it is all over, I will share some more info on the program and where I did it. For some reason, I decided not to really document school on here. Probably because I wanted to digest it all and then share. So stay tuned on the details.

I “graduate” at the end of October and then have to find myself a food job. It is all pretty daunting but exciting to say that I am doing something that I love. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Luke has been %100 supportive of my craziness. (He does benefit from my decision, especially when I make him cronuts and homemade pasta!)

But in the meantime, I thought I would share some other highlights from the summer.
Meeting Martha during a perfect trip to NYC.
The best Bay Area day on record in Bolinas
Amazing summertime food like this and this, and even this.
This summer didn’t help my fig addiction.

Also, these are some random summer pictures that I took that didn’t really warrant their own post, but they are beautiful right? The top pictures are from a trip to Pt. Reyes and the last three pictures are of an amazing sun setting behind the Golden Gate Bridge with the fog rolling in. Bay Area summertime at its best.

This summer was also the summer of this blog where I feel like I really found some momentum. So thank you to all of you reading this. It has been really rewarding being able to create a A Life Well Lived and share it with all of you. I am hoping to continue to make this blog bigger and better.

Fall is shaping up to be pretty amazing as well. I am going to Sweden to meet my godson, the Maryland Shore and New Orleans for weddings, Florida for Thanksgiving and as of right now, Luke and I are driving from SF to Big Sky Montana for the holidays. Phew!

Plus it will also be interesting to see where I end up professionally after I am done with my externship in October and graduate.

End of Summer_ 2

I am going to miss you summer, but I am excited to see what the future holds. So until next time, so long summer, it has been real.
